If you have a color printer available, the ICommander Print Utility enables you
to print ICommander Reports via the ICommander Enhanced Printing facilities
using one of 15 different text colors when desired. You may also elect to print
a color background using one of 15 other colors supported.
Since color printing is more expensive than black and white, you may not want to use color very frequently. Its availability does allow for situations where you need to get a readers attention. ICommander Standard Help Topics Menu includes a choice for "Enhanced Printing Reference" that takes you to another Menu that includes "Enhanced Printing Examples". This is a PDF File with examples of various text and background colors as well as the appearance of several of the different fonts supported by ICommander Enhanced Printing.
The ICommander Print Utility provides several option when Enhanced Printing is used. The first is choosing the Enhanced Print Queue to which you want to send the current report. This defaults to whatever you have told ICommander you want to be your standard queue but may be changed to any other queue available. The location of the printer associated with the selected queue is displayed. If you want to choose a different one, a list of all available will be displayed along with descriptions of their locations and uses. A common reason to change the queue temporarily is to convert a report to a PDF File. If your standard printer is some laser printer in the office, just change the queue to the Anziowin Print Pass-Through queue and tell Anziowin to send any print jobs to the PDF Writer on your PC.
The next option is which of the available monospaced fonts that you wish to use and whether or not to print Bold (usually best to do so for the accounting reports). The options for text and background color are presented next for those cases where you do want to print in color.
There is also an option to print a title page and/or to insert a letter or explanatory page at the beginning of the report. Both have the option for inserting a Letterhead or Banner image at the top. You can have ICommander automatically create a title for any standard ICommander report (which will include the Company Name, the System-ID and Description that created the report, the Report Title, and the Current Date) or you may enter your own.
If you include a Letterhead or Banner image on your title page and/or the explanatory letter that you create and you are using a color printer, the image will print in color regardless of your choice of text color and background. This is also true when converting a report into a PDF File.
