ICommander Corporation appreciates all user suggestions for changes and
enhancements and has implemented hundreds over the years.
User contact about any flaw in a program gets immediate attention.
User input during training sessions or via phone or email is evaluated for implementation based on whether changes will be beneficial to most other users and whether there are any negative internal control or processing flow impacts. The timing of implementing this type of enhancement request are at the discretion of ICommander Corporation.
Our general policy when an enhancement is requested for which time frame and applicability to a particular customer's needs is involved, is to bill that customer for the time to implement the new feature(s). We are always willing to provide estimates upon request for making this type of enhancement.
Enhancements that are not truly custom become a part of ICommander capabilities for all customers even though a particular customer paid for getting them in place to meet immediate needs. Often others will find use for the new functions but sometimes modifications are required due to the initial customer request driving the design of the enhancement.
We also do custom enhancements. Custom programs are generally required for such functions as importing transactions from electronic devices or from your bank due to differing requirements. Likewise, programs to export to a 401K Administering Company the 401K Contributions and/or Census Information generally require custom programs. Any such custom programs, including completely new systems when needed, are billed to the customer at standard hourly rates. Custom programs are only available to the customer for which they are developed and to ICommander Corporation (for support).
Custom programs done for a particular customer will often become the base for a
similar need for other customers and the cost is reduced when it is a function
which we have previously developed. Examples are importing cleared checks from
your bank for check reconciliation and exporting a file of checks issued for a
bank providing a "positive pay" capability. Each bank does it a little
differently but a previous implementation can be a save time when developing
something similar for someone else. Depending on the volume of transactions
and other tools available, a custom ICommander program may be more expensive than
is justified by the need. Sometimes an intermediate step involving spreadsheets
or other tools to grab only what is relevant for the accounting application
import will greatly reduce the time required to develop a custom program. We
will review your options with you in order to decide what works best for
your needs.
