ICommander Headquarters has a Red Hat Linux Server available for use via the Internet for a monthly fee. Often referred to as "cloud computing", this option may be an economical alternative for a small organization.

It may also be the way to get started before deciding whether to invest in your own Server. ICommander Staff has access to the Server used for Internet access on our LAN and is able to easily provide assistance. If you do not have high-speed Internet access, this may not be the best route.

An encrypted tunnel throught the Internet is used to assure the privacy of your information. All system management including backups is handled by ICommander Staff and there is no Annual Support Access Fee.

If you later decide to install your own Red Hat Linux Server, it is a simple matter to transfer all data files to it, since you will be using the identical environment.

ICommander Software License Prices are based on the number of actual users and the underlying ICobol Runtime Licenses are based on the number of sessions. The distinction is that one actual user may have two or more sessions active at the same time. The Anziowin Terminal Emulation and Communications Software must be installed on each PC (Windows Only) that accesses and uses ICommander.

Price quotes are available upon request. We can also temporarily grant access to our Software Price List via the ICommander Intranet for Customers upon request, if you prefer to evaluate on your own.

Separate Prices are provided for use of ICommander via the Internet for a monthly fee. We also offer the ICommander Menu, Control & Security System and the Intranet Administration and Web Page Maintenance/Generation as a option when no ICommander Accounting Software is licensed or used.

Software license prices and monthly fees do NOT include staff time for setup, implementation, and training. ICommander Staff includes experienced accountants who can efficiently guide or assist you in starting to use ICommander. You also have access to the actual ICommander developers. Estimates of Staff Time Charges are also available on request but depend on the extent to which your operation and your own staff availability will minimize our time.

For an example of ICommander's flexibility, consider our General Ledger account numbers. They can be as simple as a three or four digit number with one component or up to a twenty digit number broken into up to five components. Our unique use of background codes and groupings for each account number component allows virtually unlimited ways to organize and report on financial information without complicating the account numbers. The G/L System design permits extending both the number of digits in an account component and the number of components without losing comparability to prior history as an organization grows. It even can rearrange prior history to maintain comparability when major chart structure changes are needed due to growth or regulatory requirements.

Each system is extremely adaptable. One example of this is the multitude of uses of the Job Cost System included in our Accounts Payable System. It is used, of course, for construction contract job accounting, but can also be used for capital expenditures authorizations, project tracking, and tracking particpant costs for detailed grant accounting.

ICommander Intranet/Infomation Management

Effective in February, 2010 ICommander is now available for Intranet and Information Management Only. Users of our Accounting Systems have access to these powerful functions and ICommander has many facilities for routing reports, graphs, tables, calendars and so on to Public or Private Areas on the Intranet created and managed by ICommander.

If you are satisfied with your current accounting software but would like a simple and effective way of managing a "Private Internet" and easily building web pages, you may now use the ICommander Menu, Control & Security System plus the Intranet Administration and Web Page Maintenance and Generation functions as a standalone system. This includes the extensive Information Management and Utility functions incorporated in the core ICommander Systems.

ICommander includes extensive options for transferring files from a PC to the ICommander Linux Server. The Samba File Sharing capabilities on a LAN make this even simpler. You may also find you can start using the ICommander Linux Server as your primary File Server and save considerably in comparison to other more expensive options.
